The review of The Letters of M McLuhan is fair, and inconclusive. There is evidence that he thought media studies might lead to politically actionable policies. Now that nature is programmable, the dialectic on climate change breaks along binary points, and the conspiratorial suggestion that weather can be controlled is more bipartisan fear and loathing. The criticism might as well be, well where's your geodesic dome? As though there is nothing to show for it.
